World Sex according to Durex

The whole world is having sex. Fortunately not all at the same time, which would be an interesting sight to the aliens watching us but it's certainly going on quite a lot.

Durex have released the results of their annual sex survey and the results make for interesting reading. Given that they've asked a lot of people a lot of questions and got a lot of results.

Diving into those results the following stats appear:

Icelanders have sex earliest in life, starting as they do at 15. Now that's illegal in most countries but when you live in a cold country sex is one great way of keeping warm. Germans, Swedes and Danes aren't far behind though.

Globally people have 9 sexual partners. Presumably not all at the same time (although…..). Turkey leads with 14.5 per person with the Australians coming up second. It's the people of India who bring up the rear with 3.

Careful when having sex though. Avoid people from Norway if at all possible. 20% have had a sexually transmitted disease. Also watch out for the Chinese, Italians, Australians and New Zealanders. Oh, and those Icelandic types again. You'll be safest with a Spaniard or Dutch partner, they're only at 3%.

Stopping the spread of disease and those pesky unwanted pregnancies are a concern. 34% of people feel that governments should be spending more money making sure sex education is done in schools, 32% of people think free condoms should be available to help raise awareness of STDs and the perils of sex. 74% thinking that young adults need to be encouraged into having protected sex.

Unsuprisingly men want more sex more than women (Will these women of the world never learn?!). At least the 39% who want to find something new and exciting are keeping interest alive though the Norwegians and Swedes aren't so happy - they want more sex - unlike the Belgians who are content.

New Zealanders, Norwegians and Finns are very prone to one night stands but the New Zealanders and Australians use a lot of lube (for vaginal dryness more than anal sex). Australians and Americans also like their vibrators. A lot. Watch out for the Turks. They're having the most affairs.

Speaking of lube, the manufacturers are putting something in the stuff sold in Canada and the USA. They like the taste.

Vibrators are getting very popular these days. 26% of women and 19% of men have used one. Taiwanese, USA and the English are most prone to buying them.

Getting out of the bedroom it seems most people are doing it in the car, the toilet and their parent's bedroom! 15% are doing it at work, 10% at school but only 2% are in the Mile High Club. Australians are having sex in the park, Israelis are doing it in clubs and the Irish are doing it in alleyways. The Americans like seeing themselves doing it, there's a lot of filming going on over there.

So who is doing it the most?

Greece, on average 138 times a year. I want to know who's getting my share, the English are at it 118 times a year! The Japaneese aren't going at it as much though, only 45 times a year.
